Hinsdale, E.B. The History of the Long Island Rail Road Company 1834 - 1893.  LIRR, March 23, 1898. One of the earliest LIRR histories written by the former secretary and general counsel for the railroad.

Hazelton, Henry Isham, The Boroughs of Brooklyn and Queens and the Counties of Nassau and Suffolk, five volumes, 1925.  The first volume contains a 37 page history of the Long Island Rail Road written by Felix E. Reifschneider, accompanied by 14 pages of illustrations. (see next item)
